Brooks Beard started in the financial services industry back in 2008 after graduating from Belmont Abbey College in NC with a Business Management Degree. Brooks landed a job at Morgan Stanley as a Financial Advisor which is one of the largest Financial Advisory investment firms in the world. Brooks bounced around in the financial services industry and found himself unemployed back in 2010. Brooks car got repossessed, he had ZERO money in the bank and to top it off his credit score was in the low 500s.
At that time, life was frustrating. Brooks started an Event Planning Business and applied for a business credit card and was denied. He also wanted to buy a house and get a credit card to help him get out of his financial woes but was denied again. Brooks had to borrow money from a friend and a mentor to help get him back on track.
However, things started to change once Brooks landed a Mortgage Broker Position at Bank of America/Merrill Lynch back in 2012. In addition to that, his Event Planning Business took off at the same time. So, now Brooks is making a six figure income as a Mortgage Broker and a six figure income with his Event Planning Business.
Even with having the great income, the problem still lingered that Brooks had bad credit. So, he decided to make repairing his credit an obsession. Within 1 year, Brooks credit went from a 523 to a 794 and most recently joining the 800 club. In addition to earning multiple six figures, Brooks has leveraged his personal credit to acquire a real estate portfolio of 1.5 million in addition to having over $300k in available credit for business or real estate opportunities.
