Privacy Policy

This policy explains what CouponReals collects when you use this website, why, and what you can do about it. It covers this site only — not the retailers you click through to, who run their own sites under their own policies.

The short version

• You do not need an account, and we do not ask for your name, address or payment details.
• We never sell personal data.
• Our servers keep ordinary technical logs, and we use analytics to see which pages get used.
• When you click through to a retailer, that retailer and its affiliate network set their own cookies. That is how a purchase gets attributed to us.

What we collect

Things you send us

If you email us, we hold that email and our reply, so we can answer you and so we can recognise a repeat report about the same broken code. Nothing more, and nothing you did not type yourself.

Things collected automatically

Like any web server, ours records a line for each request: the IP address it came from, the page requested, the time, the referring page, and the browser's user-agent string. These logs exist to keep the site running and to spot abuse — a bot hammering the search, for example. They are not used to build a profile of you.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and analytics tools to understand, in aggregate, which pages are used and where people give up. What each cookie is for, and how to switch cookies off, is set out in our Cookie Policy.

Offer clicks

When someone reveals a code or opens a deal, we add one to a counter attached to that offer. The counter tells us which coupons people actually use so we can push the working ones up the page. It records the offer, not the person: no identifier of yours is stored alongside it.

What we do not collect

• Payment details of any kind. We never see them — you pay the retailer, not us.
• Account credentials. There are no public accounts on this site.
• Your purchase history. The retailer knows what you bought; we do not.

When you click through to a retailer

Following an offer takes you off this site. The retailer and its affiliate network may set cookies to attribute your visit to us, and from that point their privacy policy applies, not this one. We receive commission reports about sales, not about people: they tell us an order happened, not who placed it. The commercial side of that relationship is described in our Disclosure Policy.

Who else sees this data

We share data only with the service providers we need to run the site — hosting, content delivery and analytics — and only as far as their job requires. We disclose data if the law requires it. We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone, for any purpose.

How long we keep it

Server logs are kept for a short period for security and diagnostics, then discarded. Email correspondence is kept while it is useful for support and then deleted. Aggregate counts — how often an offer was clicked — carry no personal data and are kept as long as the offer is on the site.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to certain processing, or to receive a copy of it. Write to hello@couponreals.com with [Privacy] in the subject line and say which right you are exercising. We answer these ourselves, and we do not charge for it.

In practice we usually hold nothing tied to you personally, so the honest answer to a deletion request is often that there is nothing to delete. We will tell you when that is the case instead of inventing a process.

Children

This site is meant for adults doing their own shopping. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and access to the systems behind it is restricted to the people who maintain them. No website can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise — but we hold very little that would be worth stealing.

Changes to this policy

When our practices change, this page changes with them. The date at the top is the date of the most recent change, and it is the quickest way to tell whether you are reading a version you have seen before.
